ACCESS

You have 2 basic access options in our area, by land:

  • Drive from Plakias to the monastery of Preveli. 1.5 km after the lower monastery of Prevelis you will stop in the large parking lot where a hiking trail begins that leads you to the beach! You will definitely recognize it from the large and steep cliffs around the parking lot! The journey to the beach takes about 20 minutes on foot with easy descent while the ascent you may need to make stops.
  • To avoid the difficult climb and to pay the corresponding price, you can alternatively turn left and immediately right on the big bridge of the big river and lead to the asphalt road that leads to the adjacent Drimiskian sand. There you park on the beach and then walk on the path that leads to Preveli beach in 10 minutes.

For all the others who would like to experience the experience of our area and the unique palm forest and do not have a means of transport or do not live in our area, there are excursion boats from Agia Galini and Plakias which visit us almost every day.

The interest for our region, which has been characterized as the most beautiful in Europe by the art world, also attracted Homo Erectus, which has been bathing in our places for 130,000 years. Archaeologist Professor of History and researcher at the Providence College of Ront Ailant "Thomas Strasser" who conducted excavations on the southwest coast of Crete in 2008 and 2009, said at the annual meeting of scientists of the American Institute on January 7, 2010 of the distant era 1300 centuries ago.

We wish you unique moments of relaxation and fun.
